Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]

Company: [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“Resurve”)
Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of the Terms of Service and applies to all use of Resurve Services, including business portals, locked storefronts, marketplace surfaces, affiliate tools, APIs, and messaging.

Everyday language summaries are for convenience only and are not legally binding.

1. Purpose

Which means: Use Resurve for lawful reservation and service businesses. Do not use it for abuse, fraud, or harm.

Resurve hosts commerce and operations for real-world reservation and service businesses. This AUP protects customers, businesses, affiliates, and the platform.

2. Prohibited activities

Which means: No illegal offerings, fraud, malware, spam, scraping abuse, or infringement.

You may not use the Services to:

  1. Violate any law, regulation, or court order (including consumer protection, tourism licensing, tax evasion, sanctions, or export rules).
  2. Offer or facilitate illegal goods/services, exploitation, trafficking, or child sexual abuse material.
  3. Engage in fraud, phishing, identity theft, artificial traffic, fake bookings, or payment abuse.
  4. Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  5. Upload malware, attempt unauthorised access, probe vulnerabilities without authorisation, or disrupt the Services.
  6. Bypass rate limits, reverse engineer except where mandatory law allows, or circumvent Resurve Checkout / security controls.
  7. Scrape, spider, or harvest data except via documented APIs under their terms and rate limits.
  8. Send spam or unlawful commercial messages by email, SMS, WhatsApp, or in-app channels; use purchased lists; or omit required unsubscribes.
  9. Harass, threaten, or abuse Resurve staff, other users, or customers.
  10. Misrepresent your identity, business licences, or affiliation with Resurve.
  11. Use Resurve trademarks in ads or domains in a confusing way (see Terms).
  12. Process card data in ways that break PCI DSS or impair Account Data security.
  13. Use betas or APIs to build a competing platform by wholesale copying non-public materials in violation of the Terms.
  14. List same-vertical competitor ads on locked business_link demand in ways that violate Resurve marketplace/cross-marketing rules when those rules apply to you.

3. Storefront and Materials standards

Which means: Listings and policies must be accurate, lawful, and not deceptive.

  1. Prices, availability, deposits, cancellation rules, and fulfilment timelines must not be misleading.
  2. Required local licences (for example tourism authority for certain rentals) must be obtained where the law requires them — Resurve onboarding may collect evidence but does not replace your legal duty.
  3. Adult, regulated, or high-risk categories may be restricted or require approval.
  4. Reviews you display must not be fabricated by you in violation of law.

4. Messaging and notifications

Which means: Transactional messages are fine when lawful; marketing needs consent and easy opt-out.

  1. Transactional messages about bookings, payments, pickups/returns, and documents must be accurate.
  2. Marketing messages require appropriate consent and must honour opt-outs promptly.
  3. Do not use Resurve messaging to send threats, scams, or unrelated bulk campaigns.

5. Affiliate-specific rules

Which means: Affiliates must not use deceptive referral tactics.

See also the Affiliate Program Terms. Cookie stuffing, fake leads, trademark bidding that violates program rules, and misrepresentation of Resurve are prohibited.

6. Enforcement

Which means: We can remove content, suspend Accounts, and report crimes.

We may investigate violations, remove Materials, throttle APIs, suspend or terminate Accounts, freeze disputed Accounts, and cooperate with law enforcement. We are not obligated to monitor all content but may review when we become aware of issues.

7. Reporting

Which means: Tell us about abuse.

Report AUP violations to [CONTACT EMAIL] with URLs, handles, and evidence. Intellectual property claims should follow the process in the Terms.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP as described in the Terms. Continued use means acceptance of the updated AUP.
