Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Company: RESURVE LTD, a company incorporated in Mauritius (Company No. 236684; Business Registration Number (BRN) C236684), with registered office at Lot 2, Robert Rey Street, Roches Brunes, Beau Bassin, Mauritius (“Resurve”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Contact: legal@resurve.net

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of and is incorporated into the Terms of Service and applies to all access to and use of the Resurve Services, including:

  • resurve.net;
  • Business storefronts at {handle}.resurve.net;
  • dashboard.resurve.net;
  • affiliate.resurve.net;
  • marketplace surfaces;
  • point-of-sale and operating tools;
  • messaging and notification features;
  • APIs, integrations, developer tools, webhooks, and automation;
  • mobile, tablet, or other applications; and
  • any other Resurve feature, product, system, infrastructure, or service subject to the Terms of Service.

Capitalised terms not defined in this AUP have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Everyday-language summaries beginning with “Which means” are provided for convenience only. They do not replace, limit, or modify the legal wording of this AUP.

This AUP is not an exhaustive list of every activity that may be unsafe, abusive, unlawful, or unacceptable. Resurve may restrict conduct that is not expressly listed where we reasonably determine that the conduct creates material legal, security, fraud, payment, operational, reputational, privacy, safety, or platform-integrity risk.

1. Purpose and core rule

Which means: Use Resurve to run a legitimate business. Do not use the platform to break the law, deceive people, endanger Customers, attack systems, misuse data, or shift your business risks onto Resurve.

Resurve provides software and infrastructure for reservation, rental, service, commerce, operating, payment-state, communications, analytics, and related business workflows.

The principal rule is simple:

You are responsible for ensuring that your business, listings, transactions, staff, communications, data collection, vehicles or other assets, and use of Resurve comply with the law and with this AUP.

The fact that Resurve:

  • allows a field to be completed;
  • allows a listing to be published;
  • allows a booking to be accepted;
  • records a payment state;
  • provides an integration;
  • accepts or stores a document;
  • provides an automation;
  • processes a transaction event;
  • displays a Business on a storefront or marketplace;
  • has not previously suspended an Account; or
  • has collected onboarding, licence, registration, or verification information

does not constitute legal advice, regulatory approval, certification, endorsement, insurance confirmation, safety approval, or a representation that the Business, transaction, vehicle, service, Customer, or activity is lawful.

Businesses must independently understand and comply with the laws, licences, permits, registrations, insurance requirements, payment-provider requirements, consumer rules, tax obligations, privacy rules, and industry obligations applicable to them.

2. Scope and responsibility for users

Which means: The Account Owner is responsible for what happens through its Account, including staff, agents, integrations, and automated systems.

This AUP applies to conduct by:

  • the Account Owner;
  • owners, directors, and authorised representatives;
  • staff and team members;
  • contractors;
  • agents;
  • branches and locations;
  • Affiliates where they use the Account or Services;
  • developers;
  • API clients;
  • connected applications;
  • bots, scripts, automations, and AI agents operated for or on behalf of the Account Owner; and
  • any other person the Account Owner permits to access or use its Account or data.

An Account Owner must take reasonable steps to prevent and stop violations by persons or systems acting through its Account.

A Business must not knowingly permit another person to use its Account to engage in conduct that the Business itself could not lawfully or permissibly undertake.

3. Illegal, harmful, and prohibited activity

Which means: Resurve cannot be used as infrastructure for crime, exploitation, dangerous conduct, sanctions evasion, or other unlawful activity.

You must not use the Services to create, advertise, facilitate, arrange, process, promote, conceal, support, finance, or assist any activity that:

  1. violates an applicable law, regulation, licence condition, court order, regulatory direction, or legally binding requirement;
  2. constitutes or facilitates fraud, theft, embezzlement, extortion, bribery, corruption, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, or concealment of criminal proceeds;
  3. facilitates human trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation, child exploitation, or abuse;
  4. contains, distributes, solicits, facilitates, or provides access to child sexual abuse material or other unlawful sexual content involving minors;
  5. promotes, facilitates, or credibly threatens terrorism or serious violence;
  6. facilitates the unlawful sale, distribution, rental, reservation, procurement, or transfer of weapons, explosives, controlled substances, stolen property, counterfeit goods, or other unlawful goods or services;
  7. facilitates unlawful gambling, financial services, lending, money transmission, investment activity, insurance activity, medical activity, professional services, or another regulated activity without any licence or authorisation legally required;
  8. facilitates unlawful surveillance, stalking, spyware, credential theft, interception, doxxing, or tracking of another person;
  9. facilitates forgery or the creation, alteration, sale, or use of fraudulent identity documents, licences, permits, invoices, receipts, insurance records, inspection reports, vehicle records, or other evidence;
  10. facilitates evasion of sanctions, export controls, payment-network restrictions, acquiring-bank rules, or other legally applicable restrictions;
  11. knowingly assists another person to evade a suspension, investigation, legal restriction, or compliance measure; or
  12. otherwise creates a serious and unreasonable risk of harm to Resurve, a Customer, a Business, a third party, or the public.

Resurve may prohibit or require prior written approval for categories of business, products, services, transactions, or jurisdictions that create elevated legal, payment-network, fraud, safety, insurance, regulatory, or reputational risk.

Approval by Resurve, where given, does not remove the Business’s obligation to comply with law or third-party requirements.

4. Fraud, deception, impersonation, and false information

Which means: Everything material about the Business, booking, vehicle, service, Customer interaction, payment, and evidence must be genuine.

You must not:

  1. create or maintain an Account using a false identity or materially false Business information;
  2. impersonate another person, Business, government body, payment provider, insurer, regulator, or Resurve;
  3. falsely claim to be authorised by, affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, insured by, partnered with, or approved by Resurve or another party;
  4. falsely describe a Business as “Resurve verified”, “Resurve approved”, “Resurve insured”, or equivalent unless Resurve has expressly authorised that precise description;
  5. submit forged, altered, stolen, fabricated, misleading, or invalid onboarding, identity, licence, insurance, ownership, vehicle, bank, company, tax, or compliance documents;
  6. create fake Customers, fake bookings, fake transactions, fake leads, fake referrals, fake account activity, or artificial marketplace demand;
  7. manipulate booking, conversion, revenue, utilisation, fleet, review, affiliate, marketplace, or other metrics;
  8. use friends, staff, controlled entities, bots, or duplicate Accounts to create artificial transactions or activity;
  9. conceal the true nature of a transaction from Resurve, a payment provider, acquirer, card network, bank, Customer, regulator, or other participant;
  10. alter, fabricate, backdate, delete, or misrepresent evidence to obtain money, retain a deposit, defeat a chargeback, create a false damage claim, shift liability, or mislead a Customer;
  11. knowingly provide false or materially incomplete information in a complaint, dispute, chargeback response, insurance matter, investigation, or support request;
  12. misrepresent a Customer’s consent, acceptance, signature, driver eligibility, booking status, pickup, return, damage, payment, refund, or communication; or
  13. use the Services to facilitate any deceptive, unfair, predatory, or misleading practice.

Resurve may require additional verification where information appears inconsistent, incomplete, unusual, or high-risk.

5. Business eligibility, licences, insurance, and authority

Which means: Resurve is software. You—not Resurve—must be legally entitled to operate the business and provide the service.

A Business must not use Resurve to offer or fulfil a product, rental, reservation, or service unless the Business has all rights and authority reasonably required to do so.

Where applicable, the Business must maintain:

  • valid company or business registration;
  • required trade, tourism, rental, transport, professional, municipal, or other licences;
  • legally required permits;
  • appropriate tax registrations;
  • legally required insurance;
  • lawful ownership, lease, agency, or other authority over vehicles, inventory, premises, equipment, or other assets;
  • required employee, contractor, or driver permissions;
  • any authorisation required by a financing agreement, lease, lienholder, owner, franchise, or other third party; and
  • any other legal or regulatory approval necessary for the Business’s activities.

You must not upload an expired or invalid document and present it as current.

You must promptly update information previously supplied to Resurve where a licence, insurance policy, registration, legal authority, or other material eligibility requirement expires, is suspended, revoked, cancelled, restricted, or otherwise materially changes.

Resurve may request evidence of continued eligibility at any time.

Resurve’s collection or review of such evidence does not constitute a representation that the evidence is genuine, complete, legally sufficient, current, or adequate for the Business’s particular circumstances.

6. Car-rental, mobility, and vehicle-safety rules

Which means: Never use Resurve to put an unsafe, unlawful, stolen, uninsured, or unauthorised vehicle into a Customer’s hands.

Where the Services are used for car rental, vehicle hire, mobility, or a related vehicle service, the Business must not list, reserve, rent, release, substitute, deliver, or otherwise provide a vehicle through or in connection with Resurve if the Business knows or reasonably should know that the vehicle:

  1. is not legally permitted to be driven or rented in the relevant jurisdiction;
  2. lacks legally required registration, licence plates, road tax, inspection, fitness certificate, insurance, permit, or other required documentation;
  3. is unsafe, unroadworthy, mechanically defective in a manner that materially affects safe use, or otherwise unsuitable for the represented use;
  4. is subject to an unresolved safety recall that makes provision of the vehicle unlawful or materially unsafe;
  5. is stolen, reported missing, unlawfully possessed, or subject to an unresolved ownership dispute that prevents lawful rental;
  6. is subject to a lease, finance agreement, lien, ownership arrangement, or third-party restriction that prohibits the Business from renting or providing it;
  7. contains an undisclosed dangerous condition that the Business is legally required to disclose;
  8. has materially inaccurate mileage, odometer, registration, identity, vehicle class, specifications, or condition information;
  9. has unlawful vehicle modifications relevant to the rental or public-road use;
  10. contains a weapon, controlled substance, stolen property, or other unlawful or dangerous item that the Business has placed or knowingly left in the vehicle; or
  11. otherwise creates a serious or unreasonable safety risk.

6.1 Accurate vehicle listings

Vehicle listings must materially match the vehicle the Customer is reasonably expected to receive.

Businesses must not intentionally misrepresent:

  • make;
  • model;
  • category;
  • transmission;
  • seating;
  • luggage capacity;
  • fuel or power type;
  • age;
  • condition;
  • photographs;
  • features;
  • location;
  • availability;
  • price;
  • mileage limits;
  • deposit;
  • insurance terms;
  • excess or deductible;
  • eligibility requirements; or
  • other information material to a Customer’s decision.

A Business may substitute a vehicle only where lawful and consistent with the Business’s agreement with the Customer.

6.2 Roadworthiness and inspections

Where an inspection, maintenance, roadworthiness, or safety check is legally required, the Business must arrange and maintain it.

A Resurve checklist, operating file, maintenance reminder, inspection workflow, photograph, AI output, or system status is an operational tool and does not itself certify that a vehicle is safe.

6.3 Driver eligibility

Where a Business is responsible for confirming driver eligibility, the Business must take the checks required by applicable law, its insurer, and its own rental terms.

A Business must not knowingly release a vehicle to a person who is legally prohibited from driving it.

6.4 Accidents, incidents, and evidence

A Business must not use Resurve to:

  • fabricate a collision or damage event;
  • alter pre-rental or post-rental evidence;
  • create false timestamps;
  • falsely claim damage was caused by a Customer;
  • conceal known pre-existing damage when making a claim;
  • manufacture repair invoices or estimates;
  • submit false police or insurance information;
  • falsify fuel, mileage, toll, parking, fine, or return records; or
  • obtain money from a Customer through a knowingly false claim.

Nothing in this AUP makes Resurve responsible for inspecting vehicles, determining roadworthiness, determining legal driver eligibility, investigating accidents, adjusting insurance claims, deciding fault, or resolving physical safety issues between a Business and Customer.

7. Pricing, deposits, cancellations, refunds, and Customer treatment

Which means: Vendors may set their own commercial terms where lawful, but they cannot use Resurve to mislead or ambush Customers.

Information displayed or communicated to Customers must be materially accurate and not intentionally misleading.

A Business must not:

  1. advertise a price it does not genuinely intend to honour, subject to clearly disclosed lawful conditions;
  2. conceal mandatory charges that the Business is legally required to disclose before booking;
  3. misrepresent taxes, deposits, insurance, deductibles, mileage allowances, fuel rules, cancellation rules, delivery fees, extras, or mandatory charges;
  4. use a false low price solely to obtain a booking and then require an undisclosed higher price;
  5. fabricate a reason to retain a security deposit;
  6. create false damage, cleaning, fuel, mileage, toll, fine, or other charges;
  7. refuse a refund that is legally required solely because Resurve technically allows the transaction to remain recorded;
  8. manipulate a cancellation, substitution, or booking modification for the purpose of misleading a Customer or defeating a legal right;
  9. use threatening, coercive, or deceptive conduct to force payment of a disputed amount; or
  10. charge a Customer through a method, amount, or authorisation that the Customer did not validly approve, except where a lawful pre-authorisation or previously agreed charge is properly exercised.

Businesses remain responsible for drafting and enforcing their own Customer-facing commercial terms lawfully.

8. Payments, card data, refunds, and transaction integrity

Which means: Use payment features only for genuine Business transactions. Never put card credentials in notes or use Resurve for card testing, laundering, or fake payments.

Where Resurve enables, integrates, records, or communicates payment information, you must comply with:

  • the Terms of Service;
  • applicable payment-provider agreements;
  • acquiring-bank terms;
  • card-network rules;
  • PCI DSS obligations applicable to you;
  • applicable anti-money-laundering and fraud laws; and
  • other payment requirements that apply to the transaction.

8.1 Restricted Payment Data

You must never enter, upload, paste, transmit, or store any of the following in general notes, custom fields, chat, support messages, ordinary document uploads, descriptions, listing content, internal comments, CRM fields, or any other field not expressly designated by Resurve as a secure payment field:

  • a full payment-card number;
  • CVV, CVC, CID, or other card security code;
  • payment-card PIN;
  • online-banking password;
  • bank-account password;
  • one-time password or one-time authentication code;
  • 3-D Secure authentication code;
  • wallet password or private key;
  • payment-provider secret key;
  • payment authentication credential; or
  • any equivalent credential that could enable unauthorised payment or account access.

Restricted Payment Data may be entered only through secure payment entry points expressly designed for it and operated or approved by the relevant payment provider.

Resurve may redact, quarantine, delete, or restrict access to Restricted Payment Data placed in an unauthorised field.

8.2 Prohibited payment activity

You must not use the Services to:

  1. test stolen or generated card numbers;
  2. conduct carding or card-validation attacks;
  3. process a transaction that does not represent a genuine sale, rental, service, deposit, refund, or other legitimate Business activity;
  4. disguise one Business’s transaction as another Business’s transaction;
  5. process transactions for an undisclosed third party without authorisation;
  6. use another merchant’s payment account without authorisation;
  7. conduct transaction laundering;
  8. create sham or self-transactions to obtain cash, rewards, credit, volume, or artificial revenue;
  9. evade a payment provider’s chargeback, fraud, monitoring, reserve, risk, or prohibited-business controls;
  10. split, combine, route, or misdescribe transactions for the purpose of evading payment-provider or legal controls;
  11. issue a fraudulent refund;
  12. submit knowingly false chargeback evidence;
  13. improperly retain money that must legally be returned;
  14. use payment status fields to falsely represent that money was paid, refunded, held, released, or settled; or
  15. interfere with, bypass, disable, or manipulate payment-security controls.

8.3 Offline payment records

Where Resurve permits a Business to record cash, bank transfer, mobile-wallet, Juice, manual, or other offline payment states, the Business must record those states accurately.

An offline-payment record in Resurve is not proof that Resurve received, verified, guaranteed, insured, or settled the payment.

9. Privacy, personal data, documents, and surveillance

Which means: Customer data must be collected for a legitimate business reason and handled lawfully. Do not use Resurve as a dumping ground for excessive sensitive data.

You must comply with the Privacy Policy, any applicable DPA, and applicable data-protection and privacy law.

You must not:

  1. collect, upload, import, disclose, sell, share, or use personal data without a lawful basis or other authority required by law;
  2. collect more Customer information than is reasonably necessary for the lawful purpose;
  3. use Customer information obtained through a booking for unrelated stalking, harassment, profiling, discrimination, surveillance, or unauthorised marketing;
  4. use Customer information to perform an unauthorised background check, credit check, criminal check, or other investigation;
  5. scrape, harvest, compile, or enrich personal information from Resurve for unrelated commercial databases or data-broker activity;
  6. publish private Customer documents or personal details on a public listing;
  7. disclose identification numbers, licence information, passport information, payment information, home addresses, or other sensitive Customer information to unauthorised people;
  8. upload personal data obtained unlawfully;
  9. use Resurve to circumvent a Customer’s legally valid privacy rights;
  10. instruct Resurve to delete or conceal records for the purpose of obstructing a lawful investigation or destroying evidence;
  11. use general free-text or upload fields for unnecessary highly sensitive data; or
  12. collect or process children’s data in violation of applicable law.

9.1 Identity documents and driving licences

Where a Business lawfully requires a driving licence, identity document, or related evidence, the Business must limit collection and access to what is reasonably necessary and legally permitted.

The fact that Resurve provides a document-upload field does not mean that every document a Business wishes to collect is legally appropriate.

9.2 Tracking, telematics, cameras, and recordings

A Business must not use the Services or an integration to engage in unlawful or undisclosed surveillance.

Where applicable law requires notice or consent for:

  • GPS tracking;
  • vehicle telematics;
  • interior cameras;
  • dash cameras;
  • microphones;
  • call recordings;
  • biometric systems;
  • location tracking; or
  • other monitoring,

the Business is responsible for providing that notice and obtaining that consent.

You must not use vehicle tracking or surveillance data to stalk, harass, intimidate, blackmail, or monitor a Customer for a purpose unrelated to a legitimate and lawful rental, safety, theft-prevention, recovery, insurance, or operational purpose.

You must not secretly enable an interior camera or audio-recording device where notice or consent is required by law.

10. Security, credentials, malicious code, and cyber abuse

Which means: Do not attack Resurve, Customers, Businesses, providers, or anyone else through Resurve.

You must not use or attempt to use the Services to:

  1. gain unauthorised access to an Account, computer, system, network, API, database, device, or data;
  2. probe, scan, test, enumerate, or exploit vulnerabilities without prior authorisation;
  3. intercept communications or data without lawful authority;
  4. introduce, transmit, upload, execute, distribute, or store malware, ransomware, spyware, worms, viruses, Trojan horses, logic bombs, backdoors, keyloggers, credential stealers, malicious scripts, or other harmful code;
  5. conduct denial-of-service, distributed denial-of-service, resource exhaustion, flooding, or similar attacks;
  6. conduct credential stuffing, password spraying, brute-force attacks, account takeover, session hijacking, or phishing;
  7. forge headers, routing information, sender information, webhook data, request signatures, or technical identifiers for a deceptive or malicious purpose;
  8. bypass authentication, access controls, role permissions, rate limits, security controls, fraud controls, robot exclusions, usage limits, or technical restrictions;
  9. interfere with the integrity, confidentiality, availability, performance, or proper operation of the Services or a third party;
  10. impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Services;
  11. access data outside the scope of your authorised Account or permissions;
  12. attempt to obtain another user’s password, secret, token, API key, authentication factor, or session;
  13. disclose credentials or security information for a malicious or unauthorised purpose;
  14. use Resurve infrastructure to attack, scan, scrape, probe, or compromise another service;
  15. use compromised devices, accounts, or infrastructure to access Resurve; or
  16. conceal, assist, or knowingly benefit from a security compromise.

10.1 Security research

You may conduct security testing only where:

  • Resurve has expressly authorised it in writing; or
  • it is performed strictly in accordance with a Resurve vulnerability disclosure or security research program that expressly permits the activity.

The absence of a technical barrier does not constitute permission to test or access a system.

If you discover a suspected vulnerability, stop any activity that could access or alter data beyond what is minimally necessary to confirm the issue and report it to legal@resurve.net.

Do not publicly disclose an unremediated vulnerability in a manner that creates an unreasonable risk to Resurve or its users.

11. Account security and access controls

Which means: Each person should use their own authorised access. Do not share credentials carelessly or create shadow access.

You must:

  • keep credentials confidential;
  • use accurate identity information for authorised users;
  • use unique user access where the Services provide it;
  • configure roles and permissions appropriately;
  • promptly revoke access when it is no longer required;
  • protect API keys, webhooks, tokens, and secrets;
  • maintain reasonable device security; and
  • notify Resurve promptly if you know or reasonably suspect that an Account or credential has been compromised.

You must not:

  1. sell, rent, transfer, or commercially share an Account without Resurve’s written permission;
  2. share a personal login among multiple people where separate authorised-user accounts are available;
  3. allow a suspended or prohibited person to access the Services through your Account;
  4. create a hidden user or integration to preserve access after authorisation is revoked;
  5. access another Business’s Account without valid authority; or
  6. create or use another Account to evade suspension, termination, restrictions, verification, fees, or enforcement.

The Account Owner is responsible for the permissions it grants to staff and connected applications.

12. APIs, integrations, scraping, automation, and excessive use

Which means: Use documented interfaces and stay within authorised limits. Do not turn Resurve into a data source for bulk extraction or a target for bots.

Except where Resurve expressly permits it, you must not:

  1. scrape, spider, crawl, harvest, index, systematically download, or bulk extract data or content from the Services;
  2. create or maintain an unauthorised copy, directory, dataset, database, or archive of Resurve data or user information;
  3. use automated means to access areas intended for human users;
  4. bypass API authentication, quotas, rate limits, or access controls;
  5. use undocumented endpoints in a manner that creates security or service risk;
  6. generate excessive requests, webhook loops, polling, or traffic that materially degrades the Services;
  7. use automation to create fake bookings, fake Customers, fake listings, fake reviews, fake referrals, or artificial engagement;
  8. use an integration to access information the connecting Business or user is not authorised to access;
  9. resell, sublicense, or expose Resurve APIs or Services to third parties except as expressly authorised;
  10. use Resurve data to spam, profile, harass, or market to users without lawful authority; or
  11. use systematic extraction of Resurve content, non-public information, or protected platform elements to recreate, clone, or substitute for the Services in violation of the Terms.

Where Resurve publishes API terms, documentation, quotas, technical requirements, or developer policies, you must comply with them.

Resurve may throttle, block, rotate, revoke, or restrict API credentials or integrations where reasonably necessary to protect security, availability, privacy, contractual rights, or platform integrity.

13. Messaging, marketing, spam, and communications

Which means: Booking messages are allowed when legitimate. Unlawful marketing, harassment, and spam are not.

You must not use Resurve messaging, email, WhatsApp, SMS, push, in-app, or other communication features to:

  1. send unsolicited bulk messages or spam;
  2. send marketing without any consent or lawful basis required by applicable law;
  3. use purchased, scraped, harvested, rented, or unlawfully obtained contact lists;
  4. ignore a valid unsubscribe, opt-out, objection, or withdrawal of consent;
  5. conceal or falsify the identity of the sender;
  6. send phishing links, malware, deceptive attachments, or fraudulent payment instructions;
  7. threaten, extort, blackmail, harass, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another person;
  8. send discriminatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, or unlawful content;
  9. contact a Customer for unrelated purposes using information obtained through a booking without lawful authority;
  10. repeatedly contact a Customer after the Customer has reasonably asked the Business to stop, except where communication remains legally or operationally necessary;
  11. use false urgency, false claims, or deceptive information to obtain payment or personal data; or
  12. use a communication channel in a way that violates the provider’s own rules.

13.1 Transactional messages

Transactional or operational messages concerning a genuine booking, payment, pickup, return, document, safety matter, support issue, or account event must be materially accurate.

A Business must not disguise marketing as a supposedly transactional message in order to evade marketing rules.

13.2 Suppression and deliverability controls

Resurve may suppress, delay, block, throttle, or disable messages or sending privileges where necessary to:

  • honour opt-outs;
  • comply with provider rules;
  • protect deliverability;
  • reduce spam;
  • protect users;
  • comply with law; or
  • investigate suspected abuse.

14. Storefronts, listings, descriptions, and Business Materials

Which means: Public-facing Business information must be truthful, lawful, and something you have the right to publish.

Materials submitted through the Services must not:

  1. be knowingly false or materially misleading;
  2. misrepresent price, availability, identity, location, operating status, qualifications, vehicle condition, inventory, licensing, or service characteristics;
  3. infringe copyright, trademark, patent, trade-secret, database, publicity, privacy, or other third-party rights;
  4. contain defamatory or unlawfully threatening material;
  5. contain malware or malicious links;
  6. publish private or confidential information without authority;
  7. contain child sexual abuse material or unlawful sexual exploitation content;
  8. promote terrorism or credible threats of serious violence;
  9. facilitate an illegal product, service, or transaction;
  10. impersonate another Business or copy another Business’s identity in a misleading manner;
  11. falsely suggest Resurve sponsorship, endorsement, insurance, certification, or guarantee;
  12. manipulate search, ranking, discovery, or marketplace systems through hidden text, misleading metadata, keyword stuffing, fake locations, duplicate listings, or other deceptive techniques;
  13. contain undisclosed paid or sponsored testimonials where disclosure is legally required; or
  14. otherwise violate this AUP or applicable law.

You must have all necessary rights, licences, releases, consents, and permissions to publish your Materials.

15. Reviews, ratings, testimonials, and reputation manipulation

Which means: Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Do not manufacture reputation.

Where Resurve supports reviews, ratings, testimonials, or similar feedback, you must not:

  1. submit a review of your own Business while pretending to be a Customer;
  2. create or procure fake reviews;
  3. use staff, family members, bots, agencies, or controlled Accounts to create deceptive reviews;
  4. buy or sell fake reviews;
  5. threaten or reward a Customer for changing a truthful negative review in a manner prohibited by law or Resurve rules;
  6. condition a Customer benefit on leaving only a positive review;
  7. submit a review for a transaction or experience that did not occur;
  8. coordinate review attacks against a competitor;
  9. publish knowingly false allegations;
  10. manipulate ratings through fake bookings or duplicate Accounts; or
  11. fail to disclose compensation, sponsorship, or another material relationship where disclosure is legally required.

Resurve may remove, suppress, de-rank, or investigate reviews or ratings that appear fraudulent, abusive, irrelevant, unlawful, or inconsistent with applicable review rules.

Resurve is not required to resolve every factual disagreement between a Business and Customer regarding an opinion or review.

16. Harassment, discrimination, threats, and abusive conduct

Which means: Disputes happen. Threats, stalking, illegal discrimination, and abuse are not acceptable.

You must not use the Services, information obtained through the Services, or interactions arising from a Resurve transaction to:

  • threaten physical harm;
  • harass or stalk;
  • blackmail or extort;
  • publish private information to intimidate someone;
  • engage in unlawful discrimination;
  • retaliate against a person for exercising a legal right;
  • direct hateful or dehumanising abuse at a protected group where prohibited by law or Resurve policy;
  • encourage violence;
  • make repeated vexatious contact intended primarily to harass;
  • sexually harass another person; or
  • abuse Resurve personnel.

A Business must not refuse, cancel, vary pricing, impose materially different terms, or otherwise discriminate against a Customer on a basis prohibited by applicable law.

Legitimate eligibility requirements—such as lawful driver-age limits, licence requirements, insurance conditions, geographic restrictions, safety restrictions, or payment requirements—are not prohibited merely because they result in different treatment, provided they are lawful, genuine, and not used as a pretext for unlawful discrimination.

17. Conduct toward Resurve personnel

Which means: You can complain, disagree, and pursue legal rights. You cannot threaten or abuse staff.

Users may raise complaints, challenge decisions, make privacy requests, seek legal remedies, or disagree with Resurve.

However, users must not engage in:

  • credible threats;
  • harassment;
  • discriminatory abuse;
  • sexual harassment;
  • repeated obscene or abusive conduct;
  • intentional disclosure of private staff information;
  • stalking;
  • repeated vexatious communications with no legitimate support purpose; or
  • conduct that creates a reasonable safety risk to Resurve personnel.

Where appropriate, Resurve may:

  • end a call or chat;
  • require communication in writing;
  • restrict support to designated Account representatives;
  • restrict a communication channel;
  • issue a warning;
  • suspend access; or
  • terminate an Account for serious or repeated misconduct.

A communication restriction will not prevent a person from exercising non-waivable legal or privacy rights through an appropriate written channel.

18. Intellectual property and competitive misuse

Which means: Use the product; do not copy, resell, or systematically extract it to build a substitute.

Without limiting the Terms of Service, you must not:

  1. reproduce, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, distribute, or provide the Services as your own hosted service except where Resurve expressly permits it;
  2. remove or alter proprietary notices;
  3. copy protected Resurve source code, design assets, documentation, proprietary content, or other protected materials without authorisation;
  4. reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code except to the limited extent a prohibition is unenforceable under mandatory law;
  5. access or systematically analyse the Services for the purpose of copying protected non-public functionality, architecture, workflows, content, or materials in violation of the Terms;
  6. frame or mirror restricted Resurve interfaces or content without permission;
  7. register or use a confusingly similar domain, handle, trademark, ad keyword, or identity in violation of Resurve’s intellectual-property rights;
  8. falsely pass off a competing service as Resurve;
  9. use confidential Resurve information to develop or assist a competing product in violation of a confidentiality obligation; or
  10. circumvent technical measures that protect Resurve intellectual property or licensed functionality.

Nothing in this AUP prevents lawful competition or independent development that does not violate Resurve’s intellectual-property, confidentiality, contractual, access-control, or other legal rights.

19. Marketplace, attribution, and fee circumvention

Which means: Do not manipulate lead sources or use Resurve to acquire a Customer and then secretly alter records to avoid rules or fees that legitimately apply.

Where a Resurve product, marketplace program, payment arrangement, affiliate program, or other feature has rules concerning checkout, provenance, attribution, commissions, fees, or booking completion, you must not intentionally circumvent those rules.

Prohibited conduct may include:

  1. changing or falsifying provenance fields;
  2. stripping attribution parameters for the purpose of avoiding an applicable fee or commission;
  3. creating duplicate bookings to replace a properly attributed booking;
  4. cancelling and recreating a transaction solely to alter attribution;
  5. asking a Customer to create a false direct booking to avoid an applicable marketplace fee;
  6. manipulating referral or affiliate attribution;
  7. using fake Accounts or links to award a commission to yourself or an associate;
  8. falsely recording a marketplace lead as Business-originated demand;
  9. suppressing or altering transaction information to avoid Resurve Fees; or
  10. bypassing Resurve Checkout where the Terms or applicable product rules require Resurve Checkout for that transaction.

This section applies only to fees, checkout requirements, provenance rules, or programs that validly apply under the Terms or applicable written program rules. It does not prohibit a Business from conducting lawful independent business outside Resurve where no Resurve rule or contractual obligation applies.

20. Affiliate and referral abuse

Which means: Real referrals are allowed. Cookie stuffing, fake leads, self-referrals, bots, and deceptive ads are not.

In addition to the Affiliate Program Terms, Affiliates and users participating in a referral program must not:

  1. create fake Businesses, leads, Customers, bookings, or transactions;
  2. refer themselves through a second Account or controlled entity where self-referrals are prohibited;
  3. use bots, scripts, click farms, device farms, or automated traffic to generate attribution;
  4. engage in cookie stuffing, forced clicks, hidden redirects, or deceptive tracking;
  5. overwrite another Affiliate’s attribution through deceptive means;
  6. send bulk unsolicited referral messages;
  7. use purchased or harvested contact lists unlawfully;
  8. misrepresent Resurve pricing, capabilities, guarantees, relationships, or terms;
  9. claim to be an employee, authorised sales agent, franchise, or representative of Resurve unless expressly authorised;
  10. make unapproved legal, financial, income, performance, savings, or revenue guarantees on Resurve’s behalf;
  11. bid on Resurve trademarks, use Resurve domains, or engage in other advertising practices prohibited by the Affiliate Program Terms;
  12. provide unlawful or undisclosed incentives;
  13. create fake conversions to trigger commission;
  14. interfere with another Affiliate’s tracking; or
  15. otherwise manipulate the Affiliate Program.

Resurve may withhold, reverse, cancel, or investigate commissions associated with suspected fraud or invalid referrals as provided by the Affiliate Program Terms.

21. AI, automated agents, and generated content

Which means: Automation does not excuse misconduct. If your bot does it through your Account, it counts as your use.

If Resurve permits AI tools, agents, automated workflows, or generated content, you are responsible for how you configure and use them.

You must not use AI or automation through or in connection with Resurve to:

  1. generate or submit fake identity, licence, insurance, vehicle, payment, damage, or compliance documents;
  2. impersonate a real person deceptively;
  3. create fake Customers, bookings, reviews, referrals, messages, or support claims;
  4. automate spam or harassment;
  5. bypass rate limits or security controls;
  6. scrape or bulk extract Resurve data without authorisation;
  7. make unlawful discriminatory decisions;
  8. create deceptive pricing or false representations;
  9. generate malicious code or conduct cyberattacks;
  10. automatically approve or reject consequential Customer matters in a manner prohibited by applicable law;
  11. make false statements to Customers while presenting them as verified facts from Resurve; or
  12. use automated systems to engage in conduct otherwise prohibited by this AUP.

A Business must appropriately review AI-generated or automated outputs before relying on them for significant legal, financial, safety, insurance, rental, accounting, or compliance decisions.

An AI-generated output is not made accurate, lawful, safe, or authorised merely because it was produced through a Resurve feature.

22. Unsupported sensitive and regulated data

Which means: Do not store highly regulated information in Resurve unless the product specifically supports that use.

Unless Resurve expressly states that a particular feature supports the relevant category of information, you must not intentionally use general Resurve fields, notes, uploads, messaging, or storage as a repository for information subject to specialised security or regulatory requirements that the Services are not designed to support.

This may include, depending on applicable law:

  • full payment-card credentials;
  • card authentication data;
  • passwords or authentication secrets;
  • private cryptographic keys;
  • protected health information subject to specialised health-data regulation;
  • biometric templates used for unique identification;
  • genetic data;
  • unnecessary criminal-history information;
  • classified government information;
  • state secrets;
  • data whose storage requires a certification or security environment Resurve has not agreed to provide; or
  • other information Resurve expressly identifies as unsupported.

This restriction does not prevent lawful use of supported rental documents, driving-licence information, Customer identification, accident information, insurance references, or other data reasonably necessary for a supported workflow, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

23. Third-party services and provider rules

Which means: If your Resurve workflow uses a bank, PSP, WhatsApp, map provider, login provider, or other service, you must also follow the rules that legitimately apply to that integration.

The Services may depend on or interoperate with third parties such as:

  • payment service providers;
  • acquirers;
  • banks;
  • card networks;
  • messaging providers;
  • WhatsApp or telecommunications providers;
  • email providers;
  • identity providers;
  • hosting and cloud providers;
  • mapping providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • vehicle-data providers; and
  • other integration providers.

You must not use an integrated third-party service in a manner that violates that provider’s terms, acceptable-use rules, payment-network requirements, or applicable law where those requirements validly apply to you.

Resurve may restrict or disable a feature, integration, payment method, communication method, or transaction where required by a provider, network, bank, law, or security requirement.

Resurve is not required to continue supporting a third-party integration that exposes Resurve or its users to unacceptable legal, security, financial, or operational risk.

24. No interference with investigations, complaints, or evidence

Which means: Do not delete evidence, intimidate complainants, or lie to Resurve during an investigation.

If Resurve investigates suspected misuse, you must not:

  1. knowingly provide false material information;
  2. fabricate evidence;
  3. alter records for the purpose of deceiving Resurve;
  4. destroy or conceal evidence where you have been instructed to preserve it or know it is subject to a legal hold;
  5. threaten or retaliate against a complainant, Customer, witness, staff member, or other participant;
  6. attempt to compromise or access another party’s Account to obtain information about the investigation;
  7. bribe or improperly influence a participant;
  8. create replacement Accounts to continue the disputed conduct;
  9. obstruct a lawful request for information; or
  10. impersonate Resurve or a regulator in connection with the matter.

Resurve may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, enforcement, legal compliance, or legal claims.

25. Resurve investigations

Which means: We may investigate risk and ask for evidence, but we are not your regulator, insurer, police force, or dispute tribunal.

Resurve may investigate suspected violations of:

  • this AUP;
  • the Terms of Service;
  • the Privacy Policy;
  • applicable program terms;
  • payment-provider or integration rules;
  • law; or
  • rights of Resurve or another person.

An investigation may include:

  • reviewing Account and system activity;
  • reviewing Materials;
  • reviewing relevant support and communication records;
  • reviewing transaction and payment-state information available to Resurve;
  • requesting documents or explanations;
  • asking a Business to verify identity, ownership, authority, insurance, licensing, or other information;
  • reviewing technical logs and security events;
  • consulting a service provider, PSP, acquirer, bank, insurer, professional adviser, or authority where lawful;
  • temporarily restricting features while facts are checked; and
  • preserving relevant information.

Resurve may take precautionary action based on credible reports, unusual activity, risk indicators, provider instructions, legal requests, or reasonable suspicion. We do not need to establish criminal guilt, civil liability, or a final legal violation before taking reasonable platform-protection measures.

A Resurve investigation or enforcement decision is a contractual/platform decision and is not necessarily a legal determination of fault.

26. Enforcement

Which means: We need the right to act quickly when something could harm Customers, Businesses, payment providers, or Resurve.

If Resurve reasonably believes that an Account, user, Business, listing, transaction, integration, communication, or other activity:

  • violates this AUP or the Terms;
  • may be unlawful;
  • may expose a person to material harm;
  • creates unacceptable fraud, payment, security, privacy, safety, regulatory, or reputational risk;
  • may compromise the Services;
  • may violate a payment-provider, acquiring-bank, card-network, telecommunications, or integration requirement;
  • may expose Resurve or another person to legal liability; or
  • requires investigation,

Resurve may take one or more of the following actions, subject to applicable law:

  1. request information, documents, corrective action, or verification;
  2. issue a warning;
  3. remove, edit, disable, de-index, quarantine, or restrict Materials;
  4. pause or reject publication of a listing;
  5. restrict marketplace visibility;
  6. limit, suspend, or disable messaging;
  7. throttle, block, revoke, or rotate API access;
  8. disable an integration;
  9. apply transaction, booking, account, or feature restrictions;
  10. prevent creation of additional Accounts;
  11. restrict specific staff users or devices;
  12. temporarily suspend an Account;
  13. terminate an Account;
  14. preserve relevant records;
  15. notify or cooperate with an affected PSP, acquirer, bank, integration provider, insurer, hosting provider, or other service provider where lawful and appropriate;
  16. refer suspected unlawful conduct to an appropriate authority;
  17. comply with a lawful preservation, disclosure, or restriction request;
  18. take technical steps reasonably necessary to protect the Services or other users; or
  19. exercise any other right available under the Terms or law.

26.1 Immediate action

Resurve may act without prior notice where we reasonably believe immediate action is appropriate because of:

  • security risk;
  • fraud;
  • payment abuse;
  • Customer safety;
  • unlawful activity;
  • compromised credentials;
  • child exploitation;
  • serious privacy risk;
  • sanctions or legal requirements;
  • provider requirements;
  • risk of evidence destruction;
  • imminent platform harm; or
  • another urgent circumstance.

26.2 We may limit the explanation

Resurve may be unable or unwilling to provide complete details about an enforcement decision where disclosure could:

  • compromise security;
  • reveal fraud-detection methods;
  • prejudice an investigation;
  • violate law;
  • violate another person’s rights;
  • disclose confidential information;
  • enable circumvention; or
  • conflict with a provider or authority requirement.

26.3 No duty to monitor everything

Resurve is not obligated to proactively monitor every listing, booking, file, message, Customer interaction, vehicle, transaction, document, or other activity unless applicable law expressly imposes such a duty.

Resurve’s failure to detect, prevent, remove, or act upon conduct does not:

  • approve the conduct;
  • make the conduct compliant;
  • transfer responsibility to Resurve; or
  • waive Resurve’s right to act later.

26.4 Suspension does not transfer Business obligations

Suspension or restriction of Resurve does not relieve a Business of obligations it independently owes to:

  • Customers;
  • employees;
  • suppliers;
  • authorities;
  • insurers;
  • payment providers;
  • banks;
  • tax authorities; or
  • other third parties.

A Business remains responsible for safely managing existing rentals, bookings, Customers, assets, funds, refunds, legal obligations, and records during any suspension.

26.5 Fees and liability

The consequences of suspension or termination for Fees, access, refunds, liability, indemnity, and data are governed by the Terms of Service and applicable law.

A violation of this AUP constitutes a violation of the Terms of Service.

27. Reporting abuse and violations

Which means: Send us enough information to investigate. Do not send card passwords, OTPs, or other dangerous secrets.

Reports of suspected AUP violations may be sent to:

legal@resurve.net

Where possible, include:

  • the relevant Business name;
  • Resurve handle;
  • listing or page;
  • booking or transaction reference, if applicable;
  • dates and approximate times;
  • a clear description of the suspected violation;
  • screenshots or documents that you are lawfully permitted to provide; and
  • contact information if you want Resurve to follow up.

Do not email:

  • full payment-card numbers;
  • CVV/CVC;
  • passwords;
  • one-time authentication codes;
  • private cryptographic keys; or
  • unnecessary copies of highly sensitive personal information.

Intellectual-property notices should follow any specific notice procedure stated in the Terms of Service.

Security vulnerabilities should be reported as described in Section 10.1.

27.1 False or abusive reports

You must not knowingly submit a false complaint, fraudulent takedown request, fabricated security report, false intellectual-property claim, or other report intended primarily to harass a Business, Customer, competitor, Affiliate, or Resurve.

A good-faith report is not prohibited merely because an investigation does not ultimately establish a violation.

27.2 Emergencies

Resurve is not an emergency service.

If there is an immediate threat to life, physical safety, or property, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement authority.

28. Cooperation with authorities and service providers

Which means: We may comply with valid legal requests and work with providers to stop fraud or abuse.

Resurve may preserve, restrict, or disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service, or a valid legal process.

Where appropriate and lawful, Resurve may cooperate with:

  • law-enforcement authorities;
  • courts;
  • regulators;
  • data-protection authorities;
  • payment service providers;
  • acquiring banks;
  • card networks;
  • financial institutions;
  • telecommunications providers;
  • insurers;
  • cybersecurity providers; and
  • other persons investigating fraud, security incidents, abuse, or unlawful activity.

Nothing in this AUP requires Resurve to make a report to an authority where no reporting obligation exists, nor does it prevent Resurve from making a report where reporting is legally required or otherwise lawful and appropriate.

29. Changes to this AUP

Which means: Abuse patterns, laws, payment rules, and Resurve products change, so this Policy may change too.

Resurve may update this AUP from time to time to reflect:

  • changes to the Services;
  • new verticals or markets;
  • emerging fraud or abuse patterns;
  • new payment-provider or card-network requirements;
  • security risks;
  • privacy risks;
  • legal or regulatory changes;
  • marketplace changes; or
  • other legitimate platform-protection needs.

Changes will be handled in accordance with the modification provisions of the Terms of Service.

Where a change materially affects an existing paid Business’s contractual rights, Resurve will provide any notice required by the Terms or applicable law.

Continued use of the Services after an updated AUP takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent provided by the Terms and permitted by law.

30. Relationship with the Terms of Service

Which means: The AUP tells you what you cannot do. The Terms govern the overall contract.

This AUP supplements the Terms of Service.

If conduct violates both this AUP and another part of the Terms, Resurve may rely on either or both.

Nothing in this AUP:

  • makes Resurve the provider of a Business’s underlying rental or service;
  • makes Resurve responsible for a Business’s licence, insurance, vehicle safety, Customer treatment, privacy compliance, or transaction;
  • creates a duty for Resurve to pre-screen or supervise every Business;
  • creates an obligation for Resurve to investigate every complaint;
  • guarantees that Resurve will detect every violation;
  • expands Resurve’s warranties or liability beyond the Terms or non-waivable law; or
  • limits any right Resurve has under the Terms or applicable law.
